Coal Board Medical Assessment
Our practice has been undertaking Coal Mine Worker Health Assessments (CMWHS) since 2013. Our practice has four RSHQ accredited EMO’s (Examining Medical Officer’s), Spirometry and drug & alcohol accredited nursing staff and an accredited AMA (Appointment Medical Advisor)- Dr Muhammad Zaman.
Coal Board Medicals are a mandatory medical examination for those who will be employed in the Coal Mining Industry. Coal Mine Worker (CMW) health assessments must be completed prior to start of onsite employment and periodically every 5 years.
Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) on the 1st of April 2023 moved CMW Health Assessments from paper based to electronic based via ResHealth portals. It is the employer’s responsibility to initiate a Health Assessment to the candidate via their ResHealth portal prior to the candidates’ medical assessment appointment. Candidates are expected to complete their Workers section (section 2) in their ResHealth portal prior to their appointment.
